Photos of first day in Dublin

UCLA from above

I thought this was a pretty neat shot. Refraction + shadows.

 Somewhere above Utah.

Somewhere above Colorado. It's an airport (I think) but I don't know what city.

Flying over Pennsylvania. I love how the lake has frozen over.

About to head off to Dublin.

I decided to explore Dublin since I had a few hours before I could check in. I walked to the hotel I'm supposed to stay at for my EAP orientation. Luckily, it's really close to the hostel I chose to stay at today. I walked around in circles so I wouldn't get lost. The streets weren't busy, not too many people were out.

Along the way, I found two parks. Here are pictures from the first park.

This photo reminds me of the movie "Letters to Juliet."

Secret Garden?

The second park is a tourist spot. I only walked half of it.

The lake had ice over it. Seagulls stood on top and I saw a duck waddle/slide into the water.

This statue is in remembrance of Ireland's great famine.

There was a bustling shopping avenue across the street from the park (Think Third Street Promenade but less wide). This small street was full of jewelry shops but I loved the lights hanging across it.

I had lunch here. It's in the same district as the jewelry shop.

Lunch was a chicken and cajun sandwich and vegetable soup. The food was excellent and I saved the other half of my sandwich for dinner.
